Boobook owls in Higgins

Alison, on one evening a few years ago I heard a boobook about midnight. I went outside and stood on the road outside my house - and could very clearly hear three boobooks calling, from different directions.

This year, to my great disappointment, I have not heard a single boobook locally.

A few nights ago listening to my local Boobook, I thought I heard a second one off in the other direction. Tonight I confirmed that I can hear two different owls in opposite directions to my house.

Additionally, I don’t know the range of owls, but someone reported a Boobook flying over their house about one and a half kilometres from my local owl. Maybe this is a third bird in this area.
