Older COG members will be saddened to read of the death of long-time member Dr Alan Cowan. Alan remained an active birder into his late 80s, participating in the blitz for his beloved Stirling Ridge. And those who enjoyed an Emu Tours trip
for COG to central Australia some years ago will doubtless remember Alan’s excitement at ticking off the Grey Honeyeater, the final Australian HE he needed for his life list. Vale Alan and condolences to Susan and family. b
