Subject: [Canberrabirds] registration for field trips
Dear members and visitors
Field trip leaders have reported a number of problems relating to late registration, non-attendance with no notification, or people turning up without having registered.
If you wish to join a COG field trip (including Wednesday walks), you are required to abide by the following rules:
-
You must register at least 36 hours before the beginning of the trip; so, for a trip starting at 8am on a Sunday, you must register before 8pm on the Friday night before;
-
To register, you are required to provide your name and phone number, and the name and phone number of an emergency contact;
-
If you turn up at the meeting point of a field trip and have not already registered, you will be asked to leave;
-
If you register but then find you are unable to attend, please notify the trip leader so they do not delay the beginning of the trip while waiting for you to turn up;
-
You cannot attend if you have any cold or flu symptoms, or if you are under stay-at-home orders or are meant to be in isolation.
Remember, all trip leaders are volunteers and willingly give up their time to show you a wide range of interesting birding spots and birds. Please make their job as easy as possible.
