A woman entered a taxidermist’s holding a stuffed owl in her hands. ‘You stuffed this owl for me last Christmas,’ she said angrily, ‘and now all the fathers [sic] are falling out.’
‘Ah, madam,’ said the astute proprietor, ‘that is an example of the triumph of our art. We stuff our birds so well that they moult at the proper season.’
