Mariko,
I suggest the calls of Superb Parrots and Rainbow Lorikeets are really very different. Maybe check out xeno-canto (or other websites), check out books too.
Describing the calls of Superb Parrots is rather difficult (but unlike lorikeets they don’t screech). Rainbow Lorikeets have many calls. No reason why you wouldn’t be hearing and / or seeing both species nearby. Your story is quite sensible if the Superb Parrots
were quiet and the Rainbow Lorikeet(s) were not quiet. This situation is hardly unusual.

Subject: [Canberrabirds] Superb parrots and Scarlet robin
I am having difficulty distinguishing between superb parrots and Rainbow Lorikeets calls. As I stood at the opposite of the Garran covid vaccination clinic I thought I heard the rainbow lorikeets but my bins revealed at least six superb
parrots (mainly males as far as I could tell). They were joined by a rainbow lorikeet!
As I continued my walk along a bushy sidewalk below Red Hill Lookout on the side of the Federal Golf course (do you understand??) I encountered a mixed feeding flock which consists of usual members such as grey fantails, spotted partadoles
and thornbills AND a male scarlet robin. This made my day perfect.
