Also took the road trip Thursday arvo seeking LwK, to no avail in heavy rain and gloom. But used rural roads through unexpectedly high quality woodlands, roadside, and well treed paddocks, rolling hills and generally interesting habitat to the east and south-east
of Goulburn. Not wasted, but the drive was only from Windellama .

There are 3 not very close photos presented, all of a perched bird. The photos are picturesque but I don’t see any hint in that evidence that the bird is
a Letter-winged Kite. Looks quite normal for a BsK.

Thanks (I think) Ryu for the heads-up about the LwK "sighting".
Unfortunately I drove there in the rain on Thursday morning (unsurprisingly to no avail!) and by the time I got home the LwK sighting had morphed into a BsK complete with photos! The notes still match a guide book description of a LwK though, complete with
underwing black patches armpit to wrist, and white legs.
This is why I rarely chase rarities!
