I heard an unusual parrot yesterday morning. I went to investigate and a parrot with a long tail flew overhead. A Superb I thought, for sure.
In the afternoon I again heard the call and went to investigate. I found it in a large Chinese Elm dining happily, but on the sunless side. I put a few average photos on Canberra Nature Map and it has been confirmed as  a Rose-ringed Parakeet. A first for Canberra Nature Map. There are 26 COG records of the bird that have been transferred to Canberra Nature Map.
The last time I saw a Rose-ringed Parakeet was in Istanbul.
