My missus used to be a wildlife carer for many years, raising many orphaned 
Brush-tails & more Crested Pigeons than you can poke a stick at.
Yes Possums can get mange, but it’s different to that which wombats get. 
Mange in Brushies is a bacterial infection caused most often by infections & 
stress. 
Best course of action to contact ACT Wildlife whom can hopefully sort out or 
steer you in the right direction. Their number is 0432300033.
