A quick trip to Bungendore and Trucking Yard Lane today revealed 17
Plumed Whistling Ducks, plus lots of pacific Black Ducks and Grey Teal.
The first smaller pond just off the King's Highway had 2 Australian
Shelduck plus many PBD and GT and quite a few Maned Ducks.
The small "pond" along Lake Road had about a dozen, mostly male,
Australasian Shovelers and not much else.
Coming home a quick check around 12:30 of the "lorikeet" site at the
church in Watson revealed only 1 Musk Lorikeet and a few Rainbow
Lorikeets. The flowers on the usual tree are slowly disappearing but
last week I found the Musk Lorikeet in a flowering ironbark just past
the tall Dickson College sign adjacent to the school carpark so the
birds may move there.
