Corellas

I have rarely seen corellas in my suburb (Crace) , having lived there for 7 years, but in the last few weeks there have been up to about 60. They are feeding on acorns in the oaks along Abena Avenue.

Yesterday I was at Glebe Park at about 4.30 checking out possible choughs which have not been around Campbell for quite some time.  There were 3 groups of them around or in Glebe Park  -  2 of 5 birds and a pair.

  However the excitement was that many small flocks of corellas were flying  in to a large tree.  A passerby told me that that happened most days.  At about 5pm the whole flock (by then numbering 70+  birds) flew off noisily in a south-westerly direction.
