PS  any Koel fledglings from you this summer?  It has been an unprecedented season, I’m now up to 285, more than 3 times the previous highest total.

In Tuesday’s Canberra Times a letter from Stewart Mitchel warned that the AWM is seeking approval from the NCA to remove all the eucalypts from the front of the War Memorial and many from the east and north of the site (60 + trees all up).  If that is correct COG should be very concerned.  Those trees are important roosts and nest sites for many birds.  I think COG should be protesting strongly  to the AWM and the NCA about this.
