For those who missed it, at last night’s meeting, a lady in wildlife care volunteer role mentioned having had come into possession of a small (she thought baby) quail at Woden cemetery. I asked if she happened to have any photos. Her phone had sufficient good quality video of the bird, hand held, to be quite confident it was a full grown adult Little Button-quail (they really are very small – no hind toe, tiny size, head & beak shape, plumage pattern). The bird was released back there later. Certainly an odd find.
