This may be totally irrelevant but I saw a Japanese documentary in which a Northern Goshawk drowned a Jungle Crow.  It happened in a pond near Tokyo.  Crows regularly come here for a drink and a Goshawk is hiding in a bush.  When he sees a suitable bird he rushes out of the bush and grabs the bird by the nape and brings it into the pond and drowns it.  It was very clever!!  You would think a crow will be doing it.
