Whenever I walk up the Murumbidgee in Stoney Creek Nature Reserve it occurs to me that the masses of tea-tree on the slopes above the footpath would be a likely spot for CRHW. I have never heard or seen them there, but I am always hoping to.

Two birds present (together) in the artificial heathlands at the the

heathland/tall grass areas are being maintained under the powerlines,
presumably to reduce potential wildfire damage. The birds were first
noticed because of a singing male(?). This is a first record for Black
Mountain Nature Reserve. There is potential for other individuals to be
present in or near the Burgan which is spreading on the southern and
south-western slopes of Black Mountain and the southern slopes of the
ANBG Annexe.
