Yes. There are several records of this sort of thing. About John’s last comment, I wouldn’t necessarily dismiss the ability of raptors to carry prey nearly
as large as themselves. They sometimes do. Predation can occur whether carried or not. Even if they don’t carry large prey, that does not necessarily stop them killing them. They can use momentum of chase and carry to ground or low perch and kill and eat something
there.

Falcons seem to like teasing birds they have no intention of catching, many years ago in Britain and saw a male Merlin chasing a Blackbird all over a reed-bed, but a male Merlin is only slightly larger than a Blackbird and even if it did
