3 sign of Spring at Wamboin today:

  • White-throated Treecreepers are building a nest in a purpose-built nest box, adjacent to our bedroom window. They have lined it with fur from a long-deceased rabbit. This is the first time the box is being used for its designated purpose - previous occupants have been Australian Owlet-nightjar and Common Ringtail Possum.
  • Two Pallid Cuckoos flew through the garden, calling loudly.
  • An echidna train (of two), also wandering though the garden.  Last seen under the deck.
