Yes. For example I sent my answer to “RE: [Canberrabirds] Please help identify this bird” (it is a kookaburra) on  Sun 12-Jul-20 12:15 AM and it still has not shown back in my in box.

And the same for me. Is it related to which service provider you use - I am with Telstra?
