I had a pair of White Naped Honeyeaters and one juvenile chasing off a pair of adult male Golden Whistlers yesterday. I couldn’t find the nest of the WNH but the chick has only just fledged a remarkable feat of the survival considering the resident Currawong has a blueprint of all my shrubs . My RWB are still here monitoring their normal trees ( sadly none have flowered this year ) and for the first time a Spotted Pardalote inspecting a pile of dirt in the back yard ( they can’t resist a good pile of dirt ) , traveling with silvereyes , Red Brows , Weebils , YRT and resident blue wrens joining the throng.

Yesterday in Ainslie, a Pied Currawong was foraging on a neighbour’s hanging flower baskets, pulling out coconut? fibre.  Is June a little early for nest building?
