Since the fires I've sighted a few small groups of yellow-tailed black cockatoos flying over the city, which is always a delight. Just then I heard a call and saw a lone individual do a big circle over the city and pass not far from my window, calling the whole time and wheeling around as if it was lost. It flew off towards the ANU.
