We had a male Rose Robin call in today to one of our birdbaths, only a
couple of records for this species in our 34 year tenure in Wamboin.
It was part of a huge mixed feeding flock that spent much of the day
hanging around. Notable other species included Scarlet Robins (2
females), about 10 Varied Sittellas, female Golden and male Rufous
Whistler, Grey Shrike-thrush, all 5 thornbill species, Weebills, both
Pardalotes, Superb Fairy-wrens, White-throated Treecreeper,
White-throated Scrubwrens. Also several Dusky Woodswallows overhead.
Many honeyeaters too- Fuscous still here, 12 White-napes, several
Yellow-faced, usual White-eared and Brown-headed; many Eastern Spinebills.
A nice day to be self-isolating!
