A bit late reporting, but my Saturday walk along the Molonglo river produced:
- looking fron the bike path across the river 4 Darters, 1 little pied
cormorant, and 1 great cormorant on nests. 2 great cormorants with loudly
begging young. Also what I think were 5 juvenile darters flexing their wings,
looking like they might be about to fly.
- Looking across from the forest side there were 4 darters on nests and 1 great
cormorant with a young one giving it a particularly hard time begging.
On the return journey there were about 25 red-rumped parrots near the animal
hospital, regulars around there but always nice to see.
Sunday at Narrabundah Hill fairly quiet, three small groups of migrating
honeyeaters, about 20 in total with at least 1 white-naped, also a white-eared
honeyeater, a pair of dusky woodswallows and a grey shrike-thrush.
Cheers
Rod
