We saw 1 lone black swan @Sandwash 2days a go but v few, c. 1, other birds; just lotsa wombat burrows. It's mate was busy collecting reeds (to add to the nest?). I understand Black Swans nest at any time when conditions are favourable. Also I saw an Australasian Grebe in breeding plumage at Isabella Pond. Not sure if this is typical for Canberra.
