On 28 March I saw a Black Swan sitting on a nest at Isabella Pond. It's mate
was busy collecting reeds (to add to the nest?). I understand Black Swans nest
at any time when conditions are favourable.
Also I saw an Australasian Grebe in breeding plumage at Isabella Pond. Not sure
if this is typical for Canberra. Morcombe says breeding varies with climate and
season in Australia.
