Spend a few days there in mid Feb 2020, before the 'wheels fell off' so
to speak, yes its suburban sprawl/'carmagedon' whit large but there is
good easy birding, even in winter, when so much of the US is in deep
freeze, but not there. Stayed in Orange Co, east of LA and my
compilation has images of 89 of the 100 species we saw. Given the time
of year it was great for waterbirds and waders and a light on for small
passerines, many of which were still over-wintering further south.
