Last week we had a visit by a Sacred Kingfisher to our garden here in Florey, and right now there’s a Fan-tailed Cuckoo sitting quietly in the paperbark above the birdbath. Neither species is particularly gob-smacking, but quite unusual for us and perhaps an indicator of what may still be to come with the displacement of birds from Namadgi and elsewhere.
