Bluetts Block Saturday 18th: One could imagine Autumn on its’ way when seeing groups of Brown Thornbill in company with Buff-rumped Thornbill, Grey Fantail, Striated Thornbill, Striated Pardalote, Rufous Whistler, Dusky Woodswallow,  White-throated Treecreeper and Sacred Kingfisher. Then separately located, a group of 3 male Scarlet Robin and one female in the vicinity of Yellow Robin, White-browed Scrubwren, Superb Fairywren, Brown Thornbill, and Striated Thornbill.

Add to the overall number an Owlet Nightjar enjoying a cool view!

Stromlo Forest Park (West) Sunday 19th: More or less across the road from Bluetts Block : No Thornbills or Robins, but plenty of interest. Suspect male Sacred Kingfisher feeding female Sacred Kingfisher for reasons only he knows about.  Dollarbird, both species of Gerygone,  White-throated Treecreeper,  Owlet Nightjar calling, Wedge-tailed Eagle, Eastern Rosella and Brown-headed Honeyeater and other odd calls unidentified.

Very pleasing mornings out

Jean
