Surveys of Tuggeranong Hill were split over two days this season, Wednesday 4 December and Saturday 7 December, due to time pressures. Sub-sites 6 and 7 on the 4th were quiet, with a flurry of activity
towards the end of the survey period at site 6 resulting in six species. Breeding records were
Australian Magpie feeding young, Australian Raven on a nest, Galah
sitting by a hollow and four recently fledged Rainbow Lorikeets being attended by their very busy parents. Two
Noisy Friarbirds were feeding in sub-site 4, where they have bred for the last three years, but no nest was located. A
Nankeen Kestrel is becoming something of a regular at sub-site 3. The highlight of the day was a
Common Bronzewing sitting quietly in sub-site 1. Twenty-three species were observed during the surveys, no incidental observations were recorded on this occasion.
