I noticed that one of the Red Wattlebird images I took this morning was of a bird with a contracted pupil. It was early morning and the bird was side on to the sun which was still fairly low above the horizon (Note highlight on the eye). The second image is of a Red Wattlebird taken on a much darker day. One article I flicked past on the web reported pupil sizes in birds contracting to 30% compared with 15% in cats. regards Con Attachment:
