I stepped out of my house for the first time today about 30 minutes ago. I
immediately heard woodswallow calls. Too high to see, so I went back inside
to get my binoculars. Waited & watched for 5 minutes. Then a biggish mixed
flock of about 60+ close to an equal number of both White-browed and Masked
woodswallows, flying fairly low, all northwards. A stream of them but hard
to guess how many in GBS area together. Then a falcon appeared distant at
first, my first thought (as most likely) was a Peregrine. Luckily it
continued to fly almost over my home. Clearly a Brown Falcon. A long time
(if at all) since I have had one of them here. On passing over there were
about 15 of the woodswallows very closely surrounding (more behind than in
front of) the falcon. Total could have been over 100 in those few minutes.

There was a large flock of woodswallows (200+) overhead, heading from east
to west, seen from Mulligans Flat early this morning.
Cheers

Subject: Woodswallows over Florey
Just had a flock of perhaps 25 or 30 woodswallows drift over my place
heading east. Too high to pick out colours, but from the profile and calls I
assume they were White-browed or Masked or a combination of the two.
