While sitting by the water with others waiting for the Avocet's to do something and hoping the Rail would make an appearance Kym alerted me of the Rail starting to exit the reeds. Silently waiting the Rail indeed came out and allowed us all great views and for me, while not great, my best pics i have got of this species.

Looking through my pics i noticed that the Rail has a very long neck reminding me of a Striated Heron.
