What wonderful pics you take, Shorty; especially wonderful for a house-bound sickie to enjoy; we used to have boobooks on a large old redgum across the rd till some bloody Sth Africans moved to the house behind it & had it a taken out

Subject: [canberrabirds] Southern Boobook pair.

 

I came across a pair on the same branch yesterday at Molonglo Gorge. I was looking for spotted Quail-thrush so my eyes were on the ground and i did not see them until they flushed. To my surprise one landed on a clear branch about 6 metres away. Conditions were not good for photography but i still ended up with the best shots i have ever got of this species. Pics on my flickr for those interested.
