Hi All,
You may have been wondering about the Snipe getting around the Wetlands with the leg flag for the past week or so. We have been trying to identify it and today Allen Bills finally got the shot.
It was originally captured 23/12/2018 and then photographed (interestingly by Allen Bills then too) on the 16 /1/2019 (in other words it likely hung around the Wetlands for the season).
Then today, 16/09/2019, Allen captured a good photo of it again after presumably migrating north to breed. Our Japanese friends tell us that all the Snipe are now gone from Hokkaido for the winter.
Keep those photos and observations coming in!
Cheers Lori
