Dear friends

There have been some very good bird sightings on ‘Bluetts’ during the past week and birds are becoming more vocal as the weather warms up.   Chestnut-rumped Heathwren,  Red-capped Robin,  Dusky Woodswallow,  Brown-headed Honeyeater, Speckled Warbler … and now Rose Robin and Grey Currawong.  Of course every day is not the same depending on weather and wind conditions but we can hope for some exceptional species.

To get to Bluetts, drive about 2 km from Stromlo Forest Park along Uriarra Road. It is safest to park on the left hand side of the road at the entrance gate to Stromlo bike trails as traffic on this road can be busy.   Please see Gang-gang or Canberra Birds if  more information is needed.

Please note everyone:   there are hotspots for almost every birding location in the ACT.  Birders can choose the option ‘choose a location from the map’.

The reason for choosing a hot spot is that there is no way for data from personal locations to be aggregated into the hotspot.  So please make your data count, especially on Bluetts!

Jean
