A general reminder about finding or photographing banded birds.  The COG website has, at the bottom of every page, a link to the Australian Bird and Bat Banding Scheme website and it's "How to report a bird or bat band recovery in Australia” page. 

 

That page includes the following:

 

If you find a bird with a band, wing tag, or some other marking, the ABBBS would like to hear about it . . . The ABBBS will be very glad to hear from you and will send you a letter telling you about where and when the bird was banded”.

Forgive my ignorance, but I note in one of these pix that the NEH had been

banded.

 

Do any of you know of, or are involved in, such banding?  And, if so, with

what result in terms of knowledge of NEH behaviour/locations?
