Greetings COG members and birders on the chatline. I understand no-one has responded to this invitation from Alison, to attend the workshop tomorrow (Mon) morning (several people have
given Alison their apologies). So I am circulating this again.
The recent survey COG did of its members, indicated that members highly value the contribution which COG makes to birds conservation and to community education/engagement on birds.
Unfortunately, these roles are being left to a very small active group, mostly a few Committee members.
The Jerra Wetlands is the most visited birding site in ACT, and getting the interpretation/signage right is important. This is an opportunity for individuals who regularly bird at
the wetlands, to make a contribution, to have a say.
If anyone can come, even for just half an hour, that would be welcomed. Chris Hay from Locales who will be facilitating the workshop, is experienced in contemporary environmental interpretation
and signage, and has worked with the Woodlands and Wetlands Trust and other groups in Australia for some years.
I do hope we will see some of you birders there. If you can come, please email Alison, as below.
Cheers

Subject: [canberrabirds] Jerrabomberra Wetlands Signage/Interps Workshop for COG/Birdwatchers
HI all
The Woodlands and Wetlands Trust is arranging to have a number of workshops with stakeholders that would be interested in providing their views about Interps (signage etc) to be developed for Jerrabomberra Wetlands . The workshops are
scheduled for Monday and Tuesday next week. COG has a slot scheduled at 11.30 am – 12.30 pm on Monday 24th June located at Jerrabomberra Wetlands. Chris Hay of Locales (a Wellington NZ company which designed the signage at Mulligans Flat) will be
leading the workshop discussion. This is a great opportunity for COG members to provide your views and suggestions about the Interps that we would like to see at Jerrabomberra Wetlands and we would welcome your attendance and contribution to the discussion.
Could you let me know by Friday 21 June 2019 if you are able to attend the workshop so we can track numbers attending.
Regards
Alison
