On the evening dog walk on Rocky Knob I came across a man with a camera waiting to photograph Jupiter which had just appeared to the south-east in the pale sky, resembling the lights of an aircraft frozen on its approach to Canberra Airport.  He said it was unusually close.  So alerted, I took a photo myself later.  Four moons are visible, as they are through binoculars.
