The Currawongs cleaned mine out last year, cleared out the nest then knocked the nest to the ground , perfect pest controller . The wasps have made a small return this year.

There is a paper wasp nest outside my room on the inside of the eave which has been there for a long time. For the first time last week, a currawong came onto the railing below it and jumped up aiming for the nest before flying away. Not sure if it was successful but the remaining wasps all sat there shivering their wings for the next few minutes.

I have quite a few native paper wasp nests around the eaves of my house.  Ive just seen an adult Grey Butcherbird flying in and out taking resting wasps.  Something Ive not seen before.Jenny
