Kym,

 

Great photos as usual. I wonder what the message means……… I perceive that you are saying that you have observed these birds breeding over several years. I imagine that you are saying that you have noticed that the young birds appear to be females. If my suspicion is correct, I suggest that the usual for birds that are sexually dimorphic is that young resemble females more than adult males. I assume that you are not doing genetic testing to determine their sex. On that basis I suspect what you are telling us is entirely normal. Am I right?

In all the years they have only ever had one male hatch fledge etc
