Slightly out of the COG AOI, but a pair of Welcome Swallows were building a nest in a room in the old railway station at Stockinbingal last Sunday. (Stockinbingal is between Harden and Temora, west of the COG AOI.)

Subject: [canberrabirds] Welcome Swallows - Late nesting attempt

At noon today I noticed one or two Welcome Swallows flying in and out of a toilet block behind the Kippax shops. I investigated and saw the commencement of a nest on a beam just below the ceiling. Swallows have made several nesting attempts there over the years only to have the nests vandalised or, I suspect, removed by cleaning staff.
