Hi all, just seen the barn owl taking refuge on one of the lower balconies at breakfree Capital Tower apartments (next to QT on Marcus Clarke St). Still being harassed by miners. Regards, Liam,  Natasha and Tony

I think the NFSA Barn Owl may have (been) moved on.

I was walking my dog ten minutes ago outside the QT Hotel on Marcus Clarke Street and all the birds were going crazy. Ravens, currawongs and miners were congregating around one tree. Later they all flew off to the east and I caught a brief glimpse of a pale-coloured bird being mobbed by the MFF (mixed fighting flock).

Noting the proximity to the NFSA, it's highly likely to have been the same bird.

Coincidentally the very same thing happened almost exactly three years ago (11 April 2016) when I noted a Barn Owl being mobbed and taking refuge on one of the QT Hotel's balconies.

Regards,
Maurits Zwankhuizen
