There was one begging constantly in the group I saw so it would be the same birds. This is a photo of the begging bird. It seems to be a fully coloured female. Perhaps someone can shed some light on why it would make that noise other than
being a young bird.

BLACK COCKIES
At 11am, before Danny’s obs, 6 YT black cockatoos flew into the bot gardens from Black Mtn direction. I was interested because they started feeding not far from
where I was sitting (Section 36 near top end of rainforest garden) and two of them seemed to be begging young – one begged almost non-stop for the 10 minutes they were there, though without any response from the adults. They were feeding on a medium sized
banksia with smallish ‘cones’. The tree had a mixture of fresh yellow cones and older dried ones, the cockies neatly chewing off the old ones before, I assume, picking out the seeds. When I moved on to follow a possible Pink Robin, they flew off towards
the cafe, each with one cone in the beak.
POSSIBLE PINK ROBIN QUESTION
I had a ¾ (rear and slightly below) view of a female robin for 10 seconds. All I noticed was that it clearly had tan-coloured (not white or off-white or buff)
wingbars and was alone. I can’t vouch for it being “overall dark” or otherwise. Can anyone offer thoughts on possible alternatives to pink robin as the ID?
