Hi, just a reminder that we mist netted a Lewin’s Rail when we last had a Snipe trapping session. We did not have the authority to band the bird but measurements were taken and sent to the banding office. It was a great experience to have the opportunity to see the bird in the hand.

That’s fabulous Lach! Kind of dispels the illusion that Jerra is so familiar that we’re almost personally acquainted with every bird there!

Dad and I found a Lewin’s Rail along the boardwalk at Jerrabomberra Wetlands, this morning at 8:30ish. It wasn’t keen on having its photo taken, but see attatched. I’ll link some higher resolution pictures later.
