Yes the - what I also believe to be blue/green algae on the Lake Tuggeranong
site near Communities at work jetty and the library was truly foul on Friday.
The stench was also really bad even in the building.
In general, both these birds have a long breeding period.

Subject: [canberrabirds] Lake Tuggeranong sitings
Today at Tuggeranong Lake I spotted a pair of black swans with one cygnet and
then a pair of Australian Wood Ducks with about 4 ducklings. One of the parents
gave me a warning as they crossed the path next to me. Is this normal to
continue breeding this late? The lake is mostly covered with blue/green algae,
how do the water birds survive?
Last Monday I spotted two Black-faced Cuckoo Shrikes on the fire trail down to
Strangers Pond Bonython. There was a black cormorant in the pond, not sure if
it was the Little Black Cormorant but kept flying above coming down to the
water and back up again.
