I have been watching some Spotted Doves in the yard, trying to work out
whether they were breeding or not.
They were cunning.
It was not until I began trimming a hedge and twice flushed a sitting
bird that I found the nest.
This morning the broken halves of two eggs indicate that they have moved
right along with their program.
Breeding records (of the nb, ne, ny range) are reasonably scarce for a
bird that lives cheek-by-jowl with COGites.

Con
