At this late stage, I wish to join the fledgling discussion group.
Now living in a retirement village with a northerly frontage to Girrahween St.,
and Haig Park there was so much courtship behaviour in October/November period
that I considered that Koels were the most common birds to be heard and seen in
this area.
For the last few days there has been the constant chipping calls of a large
fledgling practically at my back door allowing good sightings by binoculars and
some decent photos, although in fading light.
So far, no feeding by wattle bird foster parents observed but I can furnish a
progress report.
