The group at Parkdale Road this morning decided it was unwise to continue the practice of cordiality ratings for such gatherings.  Instead they decided to proceed in a spirit of mutual respect, accepting that in the nature of things cordiality was not everything, and, anyway, people would have different ideas about what was cordial and what was not.  Sandra’s willingness to devote some observation time to collecting roadside garbage was an example to us all, particularly as it was in NSW (well OK, it almost certainly came from the ACT).

The below photo is untouched, except for a minor annotation.

Perhaps on the same theme, a female Brown Songlark was seen giving a distraction display on the edge of the gravel road. Such behavior is recorded in HANZAB for the species.
