Large numbers of Christmas Beetles in the bush around Mansfield, Victoria, where I have been this week. They were especially favouring (and almost defoliating) Eucalyptus polyanthemos.

I haven't noticed any locally, but judging by various invertebrate FaceBook sites they are certainly about in other regions.

Morning all,

A post on Facebook from a banding colleague in northern NSW has me now
asking the same question - has anyone seen any Christmas Beetles this
year? To date I have not seen any and have put this down to the very dry
conditions we are having, and have had for a while. Anyone seen any in
the local area?
