They are certainly in that area. We get them in the Canberra area, usually in summer, so they would be expected to be passing there at about this time of year. This is a recent increasing trend.

A single bird over the Hume Freeway near Bookham yesterday afternoon. 

 

This is the second time I’ve seen one in that area in the last couple of years
