Looks like moi aussi all over again, Sz. (Thank you JL) In the below the Upper Narrabundah nest is on the left and the Kitchener/Hughes (both names subject to review no doubt) nest is on the right. The second nest is between surburb
signs declaring the respective limits of ‘Hughes’ and ‘Garran’. Interesting, as Robert Garran accompanied Hughes to the Versailles conference.
I note the following parallels. Both nests are in small suburban green spaces, in medium to large eucs, quite near to houses, well-lit streets nearby, both are in old magpie nests, both of which contain a LOT of wire. There is a risk of
entanglement of the nestlings, making it possible the scouts might need to be called out if there is an emergency at nest 2.
