One other thing I noticed is that the Black-faced Cuckoo-shrikes are almost everywhere. Not on all my surveys but just prominent. At one site I had a group (I put 10 on the form) all within about 2 hectares, that included adults and full grown juveniles. The latter were feeding themselves. So I wonder could they be this year’s young already feeding themselves. Last year on the blitz only 2 km away, I had a pair still sitting on eggs.
